Welcome! My name is Sarah Chou and I am the owner of Marie Photography! I am more than thrilled you have taken the first step and are visiting my website! Although I have a degree in sleep medicine, once I picked up my first Canon 20D camera, I never could put it down!

 

As a little girl I was always very creative! Growing up on a farm in the Midwest, there was always work to be done. In between feeding chickens and planting corn, I was busy building Indian bead bracelets and working on my pottery wheel!

 

Shortly after high school, I became interested in modeling and pageants. This is where I met George, my great friend and photography mentor. I kept hopping on the other side of his camera to look at the shots and wondering how I could make them better or more unique! He then sent me home with a now retired Canon 20D! I started taking pictures of everything I did. I even took photos of every meal I ate! Anything and everything was another opportunity to get another photo. Shortly after, I decided this was it! This was my passion, my career, and my journey in life.

 

 In 2012,  I opened Marie Photography! My studio has gone from a tiny area, to a huge fully equipped studio! What I love most about photography, is the ability to "go to work" every day and be challenged with something different. They say if you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life. My love for photography pours out in every image that I take and this is just the beginning of my journey!

I have gone through  extensive training with some of the top newborn photographers, and have been featured as a top 10 photographer in the KC area by several local publishers, 

including Expertise.

I would describe my style as light and classic, but I also love being creative and customizing each session to my client's preferences!
